Programme and tickets
Pay What You Can
Every show in the Mayfest programme is priced on a Pay What You Can basis. Pay the price that feels right for you. Please note that when booking you will need to add the total amount for the tickets you are purchasing, not the price for one ticket.
Find out more about why Mayfest has moved to a Pay What You Can model on our blog.
Access
Please see the Mayfest access page for full details of all accessible performances, or see event descriptions for show-specific accessibility information. If you require companion tickets or have any further questions about access, please email admin@mayk.org.uk
Unlock the whole festival with a Supporters’ Pass
Supporters’ Passes are your key to experiencing the whole festival on one simple ticket.
These special passes are £150 and give you access to every single show in the festival, but most importantly they directly support the artists and freelancers who are bringing you two weeks of extraordinary performance. Supporters’ Pass holders can get in touch directly with the festival team for recommendations of what to see when, and will also be invited to an inclusive breakfast event during the festival.
About Mayfest
Mayfest is Bristol’s biennial international festival of contemporary theatre; a vibrant, boundary-blurring context for unusual, playful, and ambitious live performance from artists all over the world.
Led by Kate Yedigaroff and Matthew Austin, Mayfest is a cross-city celebration of the creative vitality of Bristol and explores the parameters of the city as a creative playground.
Cultivating connections between artists, audiences, participants, and venues, Mayfest champions the voices and experiences of a diverse international community of artists who ask brave questions about how we live in a modern world.
“A mix of work so tasty it makes you want to up sticks and move to Bristol permanently” The Guardian
Get involved
Volunteer
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic volunteers to do pre-event, front of house and show-stewarding shifts. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Mayfest veteran or have never attended before – the only prerequisite is a willingness to get involved.
Participate
We are looking for 70 voluntary participants (aged 18+) to perform in Doris Uhlich’s Habitat. Participants must be based in Bristol or within travelling distance and able to attend workshops w/c 23 May and performances on the weekend of 28 and 29 May.
What we’re doing to keep everyone safe.
COVID-19 GUIDANCE
Whilst it is not mandatory, we kindly ask that you continue to wear a face-covering during performances and whilst moving around buildings and busy spaces.
We ask everyone to be mindful that some people are unable to wear a face covering, and the reasons for that might not be immediately apparent.
We recommend that you follow any one-way systems that might be in place in individual venues and use the hand sanitisers available.
Ultimately, we want you to feel relaxed and have a good time during Mayfest 2022 and appreciate that whilst some people are keen to see masks remain in place, others are ready to whip them off and feel free. Therefore, we hope that you will do what feels right for you during the festival whilst being mindful of others. Enjoy yourselves, and if you have any concerns about safety, please raise them with us at matthewandkate@mayk.org.uk.
